Current Society : One of My Greatest Disappointments

One of my greatest disappointments with current society is :
it is not "dedicated" to making people strong.

Weak human beings is a cruel waste of the species limitless potential.

Everyday I live in our current society, I feel eaten away by the reality of encouraging weakness and not supporting the cultivation of strength.

We are capable of so much more.
I want us to begin achieving it instead of being stuck in mediocrity and settling for a stagnant and meaningless existence.

The Capitalist System

First off, let me say that I believe that the Capitalist/Socialist hybrid our society currently employs is the best system humanity has developed so far.

That is about the extent of the praise I will give it.

The Capitalist Philosophy (what it feels like to me)

Here's what the Capitalist Philosophy feels like to me, a direct recipient of the Capitalist model's practices for the entirety of my life.

Take As Much As You Can.
Give As Little As You Can.
This Is Called "Profit".
And, It Is The Highest "Good" Of The Capitalist System.

Here is my direct response to this "Capitalist Credo".

In a word : yuck.

A Dead-End

"The Capitalist System is a Dead-End system."

It is quite simply put : unsustainable.
It completely ignores the fundamental nature of our planet.
Our planet is based on a system of recycling of resources.

"Wanton Consumption without Restoration will result in a systemic collapse."

If you take and take and take and don't give back, you completely exhaust something.
It is just fundamental to the way, our planet, our ecosystems, our-selves, work.

A system which is all give and no take will just wind up destroying everything, and, sadly, it is.

How Does The Capitalist System View Humanity?

If Capitalism was an entity which human beings could communicate with, it would tell humankind this :

You are a selfish, hedonistic, naturally evil creature.
You are interested in nothing more then your own pleasure.
You do not care about how much you destroy as long as you get what you want.
You are a plague of locusts.
You are a virus, feeding off its host until it dies, and then moving to the next host.
You are a glutton, forever demanding more to slake your insatiable appetite.
You are a truly vile creature, and will wind up destroying yourselves.

But, "Hey! Might as well have fun before everything goes to hell! Let's get that new Bentley!"

I'm sorry.
That was hard for me to write.
But, it came fairly easily because I feel saturated with this horrible feeling.
Truly, the Capitalist system is one which would reduce humanity to nothing more than ceaselessly consumptive pigs, which need to be corralled and herded, lest they just run amok, eating everything in site.

The scariest thing is : WE created this system.
WE are Dr.Frankenstein.
and, WE are the ones who accept this system (albeit with acid bile in our mouths) and keep it going.

But,
you know what,
I think this is for lack of a better system,
a better vision of humanity.

The Next Step : A New System

I don't believe human beings are like the above at all.
I don't even believe we are a balance between the forces of "good" and "evil".
I believe we are naturally good and bright and loving and our nature is perverted by...the sheer difficulty of life and nobody to share the burden with (because everyone is so burdened themselves).

The solution : a system dedicated to making people STRONG.
Because strong, empowered people are people who have the inner-peace and maturity that can allow love to blossom and flourish.

Again, Enter : Humanism.

How Do We View Ourselves?

What do human beings think about humanity?

What do people think about each other?

How does our species perceive itself?

Asking these questions opens our mind to understanding WHY? we employ the current SocioEconomic models of running a society we currently do.

A SocioEconomic Model is a Reflection of how People View Themselves

The SocioEconomic model a society adopts is a product of the way human beings in the society view themselves.
and, at the same time,
the SocioEconomic model a society adopts shapes and molds the way human beings in the society view themselves.

It's a 2 way street.

"Everything is a Microcosm and a Macrocosm of everything else."

In other words, everything is related.
The way people view themselves will expand to encompass the society as a whole.

What do you believe is a Human Beings fundamental nature?

By answering this question, you can answer for yourself if the societal models we currently have in place are appropriate reflections of human nature.

The "Truest" Truth of Any Human Society

Human Beings Need Each Other (period).

This is the "truest" truth of any human society.

Earth's Most Gregarious Species

"I'm lonely."
"It's too quiet."
"Where is everybody?"
"I need someone to : talk to, listen to me, give me a hand, go and see a movie with, etc."

Human beings are first and foremost a social animal.

Alone, a human being is a fairly innocuous creature, but, when grouped together with others, the potential to enact planet-wide changes is without peer.

Human beings draw their strength from their interactions with one another.
The affection, support and love of others is what drives human behavior.

Human beings are THE social animal of our beautiful, blue planet.

And thus, humanity NEEDS a system which directs human energies into the cultivation of our social nature.

Enter : Humanism (according to me ; - )
